10 Jul Whittlebury Park Wedding for Katie & Graham
We have just finished our viewing session with Katie and Graham and it was lovely revisiting their Whittlebury Park Wedding with them. They’ve had a brilliant honeymoon in Cuba and I think we will have to put on our list of places to visit. But back to the wedding. It was the middle of June, and June delivered classic British summer weather. We had an amazing big blue sky, howling wind and more than our fair share of rain. But, I honestly think that if a tornado had landed on Whittlebury nothing could have stopped Katie from beaming through the entire day. This was our first Whittlebury Park wedding and we are due to return a further two times this summer.
Katie had put her heart and soul into this wedding with some amazing detail and some very thoughtful touches throughout. The centre pieces for each table showed pictures of both Katie and Graham at different ages through their childhood and was a lovely touch. There was also a basket of flipflops for anyone with aching feet ! All the girls got ready upstairs in rooms that overlooked the wedding room in the Orangery at Whittlebury and it was lovely hearing the hubbub from downstairs as the guests arrived, it certainly added to the anticipation amongst the girls
Each had their own ‘bridesmaid’ dressing gown and from what I hear the little ones are still reluctant to take them off ! There were almost 30 children at the wedding and they bought it to life without in anyway overwhelming the day. Katie and Graham had organised a variety of games to entertain the children, but I guess it’s no surprise to know that the younger children managed a few minutes on the bouncy castle before the grown up kids bounded on! This resulted in more than one groomsmen having to change their split trousers!
The speeches were touching and hilarious at the same time, with Katie’s Dad recreating the Von Trapp family singers with his daughters jumping up from a various seats to join in with ‘Doe a Deer ! A family in-joke involving a riding hat and a whip had a few jaws dropping to the floor for those in the know. But it was all in good fun and this wedding from start to finish was full of joy and laughter.
Huge congratulations to you both, it was a pleasure. And we hope to catch up with you again in the future. xx
