21 Jun Ponsbourne Park Wedding
It was a little chilly when we left home for Claire & David’s Ponsbourne Park Wedding, but the forecast said it would warm up in the afternoon so the summer clothes finally came out of the wardrobe. Set just outside of Hertford, Ponsbourne Park stands in acres of sweeping grounds and is a wonderful setting for a wedding. Their pre-wedding session was only a few weeks ago so it was like meeting up with friends again when we arrived at Ponsbourne Park. Sally met up with Claire and the girls in the Bridal suite, which was a very calm and serene place. Bridal preparations photographs are wonderful as you can feel the room change and the atmosphere move from huge excitement to the moment when the bride realises that all of her months of planning and dreaming have bought her to this single moment. Claire’s moment came when she went to put on her incredible gown and it was a very special. Don was with David across the hallway as he and his team got ready. The wedding room is very intimate and we were treated to some wonderful music from Ariella Strings. The speeches were very touching and for the first time in a while we did the bride and groom portraits after the wedding breakfast. The light was wonderful and suddenly very warming, so off we went into the grounds to have 15 mins together to capture some lovely portraits. Afterwards, Claire and David had a surprise for their guests in the form of The King, who else but Alvin does Elvis!!! Not only a brilliant Elvis tribute act but incredibly funny as he worked the room and had everyone in stitches. All in all a truly wonderful wedding at a great venue.
