08 Dec Pinewood Studio’s wedding for Lorraine and Simon.
Warning, this is a long one ! So before you read this, grab a cuppa tea and get ready to feast your eyes on some amazing detail for this movie mad couple.
It has been just over 2 month since the lorraine and Simon’s early autumn Pinewood Studio’s wedding reception following thier Great Missenden Church wedding. We met at the Milton Keynes Wedding Fair and in the height of the summer this year we met on the south bank to take the river taxi to Greenwich for their pre-wedding session. It was a red hot day and we had a lovely time in a place that i’ve always wanted to visit, so that was two birds killed !!
So, fast forward to Sept and we knew that Lorraine and Simon were very creative because they had made a film for their wedding invitation which was awesome and I fully intended to blog about it earlier in the year, but time got away from me. Anyway, whilst we have covered 26 weddings this year, this wedding wins the prize for the most detailed effort and creativity, which takes nothing away from the many beautiful days we have attended. Lorraine made her bouquet from marvel comic books, each button hole was also made from comics and had lego movie characters! Lorraines father made the cake and oh my this one takes some beating, purely based on effort and spectacular detail all made by someone who is not a professional baker. The cake deserves it’s own blog post, but hopefully our pictures do it justice. After arriving in amazing cars, and a beautiful if slightly delayed service, we drove off to the only place a movie mad couple could choose… we drove down to Pinewood Studios in Iver for their wedding reception. A significant portion of the guests were deaf so the entire day including the service and speeches were signed throughout which ensured a fully inclusive experience for everyone who attended.
Whilst the guests enjoyed drinks, I popped into the main room to capture the details and and was blown away by the table plan and the way the room had been dressed. If you look at each of the tables, they each have a clapper board image with a hand drawn image from some of their favourite movies. Simon drew each one himself and included himself and Lorraine within each image. He also drew the table plan and place cards. It was so amazing. Whilst the guests enjoyed the artwork , we took Lorraine and Simon for a stroll around the grounds to capture some private portraits which also gave them the chance to be alone and marvel in the fact that this day had finally arrived after over 15 years together. The reception was fabulous and Simon’s speech was a little movie rather than made in person and you had to be there to see the impact of a grown man in his spiderman suit had on a packed room in Pinewood! After the cake cutting, the band started and I have to find out the name of the band who got the party started as they were amazing and worked the crowd brilliantly.
No detail was left to chance and we loved being part of this day. If you are planning your own Pinewood Studio’s wedding and would like to talk about how we can work with you to capture your day, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
