07 Jun Noor & Simon’s Mayfair Wedding
It’s not every wedding day that we are still at home at 1.00pm, but for Noor and Simon, whose Mayfair wedding wasn’t until 5.00pm, that’s exactly where we were ! Don had a shoot in town too, so Anna and I went to the University Women’s Club in Mayfair to cover this very relaxed informal wedding. Noor and Simon had been very specific that they wanted a very relaxed approach to the wedding with just a few group shots and a documentary style collection to record their day. No preparation shots were required so our coverage began once the guests had arrived. We had a beautiful time with Noor and Simon and the sun was streaming in through the library windows giving us all an extra glow ! The Club is within 100 years of the Dorchester on Park Lane and there was clearly a boy band or someone who can attract 100’s of screaming teenagers to hang around outside staying at the hotel. Whoever it was came out of the hotel at the exact moment that Noor and Simon went out to the Club balcony so the roar of the crown was amazing to witness right in the middle of our shoot !
We have shot weddings at The University Women’s Club many times and it always delivers something new. It doesn’t matter how often you shoot at a venue, every wedding brings its own excitement and anticipation and that is such an important part of why we love working as wedding photographers, no two days are the same, or even similar and it is that constant change that makes this such an rewarding job to do. We feel very lucky !
