15 Jul London Gay wedding for David and David.
In our business we always sit up and take notice when anyone talks about wedding plans. So when my hairdresser David was telling me about his own wedding plans, whilst attempting to tame my unruly hair, I knew I didn’t want anyone other than us photographing their day. I leapt in to made sure Don and I were going to be the photographers of choice at what turned out to be a wonderful London gay wedding day for David and the love of his life, the other David.
Bermondsey Square – great views of the Shard – was both the setting for them to get ready in the morning and for the late afternoon reception restaurant, where we were treated to a feast. But first David and David got themselves dressed and ready in some awesome outfits. One in a exquisite Sir Tom Baker bespoke suit and the other went back to his roots with a traditional Scottish outfit, complete with Kilt, Sporran, sock flashes and a Highland Dirk tucked into his sock. The footwear was fabulous with exquisite Vivienne Westwood shoes made of rubber to finish off the Tartan look and silver boots with a wicked lining to go with the suit of the year!
We joined the rest of the family and friends outside Camden Town Hall in the pub opposite. In sight of St Pancras Station, where we had shot their pre-wedding session on a showery spring evening back in May. Camden Town Hall is a lovely wedding venue for small intimate weddings and it was made all the nicer due to the fabulous registrar who took her time with the service and the beautiful vows, it felt very inclusive and emotional. After the confetti was thrown, we jumped onto an old London Transport Routemaster and travelled across the river twice going past some classic London sights before heading back over the river across Tower Bridge, which was celebrating its 125th birthday, to Del Aziz, back in Bermondsey Square.
There we were treated to a wonderful meal, and although we had rain later in the evening it certainly didn’t spoil anything. We had lovely speeches from the 2 best women and then a steady stream of friends arrived to celebrate into the night to mark this very special wedding of two very special men. Congratulations to you both, enjoy your pictures and feel free to push our names forward to anyone else you know tying the knot. Weddings are always wonderful and we are loving the diverse range of ceremonies and locations we are covering this year.
