London wedding photography, a pre-wedding shoot.

London wedding photography is always a pleasure whether it’s a full wedding or a pre-wedding shoot. Although their wedding is in Evenley, Oxfordshire, not too far from Reid Photography’s home in Milton Keynes, Clare and Carl wanted a Central London backdrop for their pre-wedding pictures. We were happy to oblige, and thoroughly enjoyed a brisk, it was minus 4 overnight and didn’t warm up too much as we made our way around Whitehall, couple of hours capturing some beautiful pictures for them to choose from for the signing board they’ll have at their reception,  so we marched to several locations around the West End and Westminster.  A pre-wedding shoot can be so important, allowing all concerned a good opportunity to spend some time together, and with the camera’s going. The light was wonderful and Clare and Carl were naturals, here’s a small compilation image to have a look at. We hope you like them.

2011 Review from Milton Keynes Wedding Photographer

As a Milton Keynes Wedding Photographer, Ive been amazed at how many weddings we’ve covered this year that were outside of the Milton Keynes Area.   The furthest we travelled this year was to Glasgow, where we covered a high profile civil ceremony, additionally we created wedding photography collections for couples in Shropshire, Kent, Mayfair, Chelsea, Taplow, Marlow, on The Thames at Bray to name a few.  Our local Weddings in Milton Keynes were also very memorable and we enjoyed revisiting the Hotel Mercure at Woughton on the Green and we’re already booked to go back there in 2012.    A new discovery for us this year was Stoke Park Pavilions.  Nestled in the Northamptonshire countryside, this quite wonderful location took our breath away.  We’d highly recommend it, not leaast because Sarah Sweet-Rowley who runs the events at the pavilions, gives everyone such a sense of comfort that you just know that she is in complete charge and a joy to work with.

The dresses this year have just been fabulous, The most fairytale style dress that gave me goosebumps was worn by Adele at Moore House Hotel in Apsley Guise , the amount of petticoat she wore gave such a beautiful shape to her dress which was such a lovely soft pink,  I think she looked amazing,  The more unusual gowns both came from Vivienne Westwood and each were paired with exquisite Prada Shoes.  Take a look at Chicks dress from their early spring wedding in Chelsea and Notting Hill,  it takes a confident women to go for a midnight blue dress teamed with stunning poppy red shoes and she looked just amazing.  The 2nd bride to go for Miss Westwood, was Caroline, at the other end of the wedding season for her Autumn Wedding at Grovefield House in Taplow.

So this year has come to a close and next year is already almost fully booked for the wedding season, with just 10 dates still available.   We’re alittle closer to home with The Sculpture Gallery at Woburn, the Old Barn at Aynho, St Michaels Manor in St Albans and the Cruck Barn in Milton Keynes all to become great new venues for us to capture for some truly magical and imaginative clients.  Look out for  a 1950′s style blog later in the year.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our site, I hope you enjoy the new year celebrations and if you are planning your wedding, we’d love to hear from you.  Wedding photography is wonderful and we would love to create a stunning collection for you and your family to enjoy for years to come.

Happy New Year everyone.

Wedding Photographs at Grovefield House, Bucks

Its always nice to go to a new venue, so we were very happy to be  creating wedding Photographs at lovely Grovefield House, Bucks.  It was a lovely crisp autumn afternoon and Caroline and Paul had chosen a 5.00pm wedding ceremony time.  In order to make the most of their day, they greeted their guests at 3.00pm and spent two hours before the service with all their friends and family, it was a lovely break from tradition and we enjoyed creating their wedding portraits prior to the service.  Charlie, Paul’s lovely daughter, played a starring role throughout the day.  From leading Caroline and Paul down the aisle to taking responsibility for the ring, pretty impressive for a six year old!   I have to mention Caroline’s dress. It was a fabulous Vivienne Westwood Creation and it has gone straight into to my top 3 dresses of the year.  She looked utterly gorgeous particularly when she slipped into her lovely Prada Shoes, what great taste!     This was our final wedding for 2011, so we’re having a little break, but only for a day or so,  we have lots of baby sessions to completed before xmas and I love it !

Bucks Wedding Photographers- Asian Wedding Part 2 …..

I recently posted about the amazing Asian Wedding that I was fortunate enough to photograph this summer.   My previous post showed a collection of colour images, primarily because of the amazing colours of the clothing, but I now want to show a black and white collection from the same event.  As a documentary wedding photographer, I shoot using available light and often create black and white collections of the weddings we shoot.  These images, for me, are full of the emotion and anticipation of the wedding celebrations and although weddings are full of colour, I feel that black and white pictures focus the viewer on the subject and the emotion they are feeling at the time.  Hope you like them.  Please leave a comment, I’d love to hear from you..

Bucks Wedding Photographer covers an Asian Wedding

As a Bucks Wedding photographer I have worked on a wide variety of weddings but I had yet to work at Asian wedding despite it being high on my wish list.  So I was thrilled when earlier this year I was contacted by award winning photographer Kevin Mullins, an acclaimed documentary style wedding photographer based in the West Country who needed a second photographer at a large 400 guest Asian Wedding in the Cotswolds.  I love Kevin’s work, he and I became friends when we both attended a seminar by world leading wedding photographer Jeff Ascough last year, or perhaps it was the year before… you know how time flies.   It was an early start, Kevin and I set off at 8.00am for a 10.00 start to the festivities.   I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to attend such a large scale wedding and to be the 2nd photographer at this wonderful Asian Wedding.

I had the most fantastic day and was in awe of all the ceremonies that occured through the day.  The colours, the occasion, the joy and of course the food all made the day an exciting and moving experience.  I would love to work at future Asian Weddings as the scale and imagination that goes into the day is truly inspiring.   I have had such a hard time deciding what images to post as there were so many great moments, so I’ve decided to split them into a colour collection and a black and white one… first the colour.   Comments very welcome, I’d love to hear what you think.  Sal x

Burgh House Contemporary Wedding Photography

It was a pleasure to work for Sarah and Adam who wanted to requested contemporary wedding photography at their very intimate wedding at Islington Town Hall followed by a drinks reception at Burgh House in Hampstead, a wonderful venue for this relaxed informal gathering of Sarah and Adam’s friends.   The wedding was lovely and each venue had amazing light.  As contemporary wedding photographers we tend to steer away from the formal structures of old when taking wedding photographs, preferring to create relaxed story telling images that truly reflect the mood and tempo of the day.   Thanks for inviting us to be part of your day.

Milton Keynes Wedding Fair – Making an offer you can’t refuse !

Well, Don did an amazing job at the Milton Keynes Wedding Fair and was blown away by the response to our images.  Often likened to still from a film, it would appear that we are tapping into an increasing need for wedding photographs to reflect the personality of the day, the couple and the occasion.  We’re thrilled to have already booked 4 weddings as a result of the fair for 2012 and have received enquiries for 2013.  We offered a special deal for the show, which was a 10% discount for all couples who booked a meeting with us before Bonfire Night ( 5th November) and anyone booking with us before then will also receive a 16″ x 12″ enlargement with a 4″ white mount onto which your guests can write messages to you throughout your wedding day.   So get in touch, we’d love to hear from you. x

Hemel Hempstead Wedding Photography

We first met Laura and Danny at the Milton Keynes Wedding Fair deep in the Winter, so it was lovely to work as their wedding photographer in Hemel Hempstead a few weeks ago. I was with Laura at her home in Hemel whilst Don covered Danny getting ready, round the corner at his Dad’s.  A surprise Rolls Royce was waiting outside to carry Laura to the Church and although the reception venue, at Boxmoor Hall, was a mere 10 min walk from the church, they were whisked off in the Rolls to mark their first moments as Mr & Mrs. This was a very chilled out, relaxed and fun wedding and we think the best man’s speech wins our award  for best speech in 2011, so far !  As a documentary wedding photography team we aim to keep group shots to a minimum, which was just what Laura and Danny wanted and we managed to have great fun with their group shot in the park.  Anyway, here are a few compilations which I hope show what a wonderful wedding this was. I particularly loved the fact that Laura and the girls made a real event of throwing the bouquet, I think we’ll start a campaign to have more brides do this, it’s so much fun! x
