Aww,  this lovely little lady is Amelie and she is  cousin to the adorable Lucie who has been coming for baby portraits in Milton Keynes each month during her first year.  Well, this was Amelie’s first visit and she was very active as she took in our surroundings.  Mum, Dad, Nanna and Grandad also came along to capture this precious moment and we had alot of fun capturing her attention on what was a super hot day last weekend.  When I first bought this black backgrounds, i thought it may be too harsh to use for baby portraits, but i love the images you can get using it.  It is a black velvet which just soaks up the light, leaving the subject to shine and from where i sit, Amelie is shining brightly in this shot.  I also got some fab ones with her mum and dad.

Baby portraits are a privilege but not without their challenges!  As you can imagine, you have to go with the flow as baby is in the driving seat and smiles on demand are not an option from one who is just a few weeks old.  That said, they are one of my favourite types of shoots, I love the unpredictability of these sessions and capturing such an amazing moment.  Its amazing to think that she has already changed in the few days since these pictures were taken.

I first met Louise whilst she was pregnant with Hanley, she got back in contact when she was looking for a family photographer in Milton Keynes to capture the entire family.  It was a lovely loud session with Hanley generally pretty serene whilst his older brother and sister explored the toys and props we had around the place.   Family Photography is a lovely treat and although so many people have great camera’s someone always is missing from the picture as they are behind the camera.  By bring in great lights and posing everyone closely together, you can create an intimate image that captures a special moment in time.  I hope that we will see Hanley and all his lovely family again as he progresses through his first year. He has the same stunning blue eyes as his older brother and all three children are great fun with big characters that will no doubt be hold them in good stead in later years.  Have a great weekend everyone. x

It was lovely to see Lucie again today as she always takes such great baby portraits.  We are building a full years portraits into a single 16 image framed portrait  Each month since she was born we have got together to capture an image to be included into the 20″ square image.   The first two images were from her newborn shoot and  today was the session to mark her 7 month.  We are adding in family group shots for the additional slots and by June we will have created  a truly magical visual reminder of her very first year.   Its very exciting.  Here is a little compilation from her session today.

Baby Gift Vouchers are a perfect present for friends and family on the threshold of parenthood.   We are starting with a newborn baby gift voucher which entitles the recipient  to a photo session and 2 8in. x 10in.prints of their favourite images.  The session is approximately an hour and we will take a range of images of baby alone and then mum and dad. Approximately a week later all the images will be ready to be viewed in a private on to one session, where approx 40 images will be professionally finished and ready to view.  We even provide the tissues as most will have a tear or two!

We’ve done hundreds of baby shoots and found that most parents cant choose just one or two images so we have designed a new compilation product that takes a selection of images from  either a single baby portrait session or at the end of  2-3 sessions.  I am currently working on 3 different 1st Year compilations that involve taking photographs every month through babies first year and compiling a 20″ square image that tells the story of the first year, but more of that product to follow next year.   Below are sample compilation images and samples can be seen when you come along for your session.

I love newborn Photography sessions, they are unpredictable and at times a big challenge, but they are always a delight as you get to meet this amazing new person, who is less than a fortnight old and its a true privilidge to be capture their first images.   This lovely little lady is Skyla-Rose.  Mum and Dad can for a bump session and I wish I could show you more images from that session as they were really beautiful.  But, here is a compilation image of some of my favourite shots from both sessions.

As a known Milton Keynes Baby Photography team, we love it when all the family come along for a session. Often we find that the first child had great baby photographs taken, but that its now a rare occurance to get everyone in a single shot all together.  Im lovlng the look on the babies face when he whacks his older brother in the face,  butter wouldnt melt eh !!    This compilation image will make a great xmas present for grandparents and is supplied as a 12″ square print ready for framing.  Let me know what you think. x
