10 Jan Dorton House Wedding for Liana and Daniel
It was lovely to see Liana and Daniel again, the last time we met was for their pre-wedding shoot by the canal in Milton Keynes where their adorable dog won our hearts and also featured in their chosen image for their signing board. That was a nice spring day, and it’s fair to say that the weather for their wedding was pretty much as good as it gets too. This was our first Dorton House Wedding and I hope we get to go back there as the light extraordinary. Dorton House is a school and so weddings are limited to Easter and Summer holidays. The getting ready space for the girls was the boys dormitory which whilst functional and served its purpose also had fantastic windows and a very clean corridor where thankfully Liana was happy to put her dress on in as the window light was fabulous. We’re totally in love with the way Liana was bathed in the warmest of light as she made her final preparations before heading off to become Mrs Clarke.
The wedding service was in the school chapel at the rear of the main building and guests were then treated to games and bubbles on the front lawn. We had hardly a cloud in the sky all day and everyone chilled out playing croquet whilst we took Liana and Daniel off for a quick couple shoot around the grounds. The wedding breakfast was served in a gorgeous medieval banqueting hall where we moved to enjoy some brilliant speeches before we sneaked off for a little picnic with the video team. Whilst weddings at Dorton Hall are rare they are certainly really well managed and there is lots of space to use without feeling like you are being herded around whilst a room is cleared. The evening celebrations were in another part of the school in a lovely big hall which was beautifully dressed. The key challenge on a hot summers night is to encourage guests to come back in, but with a live band playing who hit the classics from song one the party got started straight away, which was brilliant.
We loved our first Dorton House Wedding, fingers crossed we’ll return so if you are planning your own wedding at Dorton House, don’t hesitate to get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.
