30 Jun Christchurch Harbour Hotel wedding.
We have known Reece and Claire for a couple of years. They also exhibit, usually opposite our own stand, at the Milton Keynes wedding fairs showing their unique handmade wedding stationary. So it was an extra thrill to have a fellow wedding supplier ask us to photograph their Christchurch Harbour Hotel wedding. Their wedding was a shining example of how to organise a wedding, in only 10 weeks! Everything went without a hitch and we had the most fantastic weather, so it just shows that every now and then, the stars align and everything works out perfectly. That said, Claire’s father woke up with such extreme back pain that an emergency prescription was required to get him up and moving so that he could take his little girl down the aisle. Not that you would have a clue from the pictures, incidentally neither did Claire who only found out the next day. He’d not wanted to worry her on her big day, now that’s a father’s love in full flow, don’t you think?
Their chosen venue, the Christchurch Harbour Hotel was a childhood favourite for Claire and her sisters who were often bought to the Hotel as children for a treat. It has recently been refurbished and sits on the harbour in Christchurch and has a lovely intimate feel with huge skies, which looked amazing on the day. Claire is a natural at all things crafts and handmade their ‘We would like to wed beside the Seaside’ banner and each of the wedding flowers were secured using her Granddad’s buttons, which was a lovely touch.
Once the cake was cut, the dancing started and from what we hear Reece and Claire stayed on the dance floor all night and even supplied a silent disco for their friends to carry on dancing without disturbing the beauty sleep of the guests above. The local butcher, a family friend, created special Reece and Claire pies for the evening, which they didn’t get to sample due to their constant dancing! So we’ve included a picture so they could see what everyone else had enjoyed !!
I think the 2nd June was probably the hottest day of the year so far and we had a magical day with Claire and Reece whose luck extended to 4 more hot days whilst they went away to Cornwall for a short honeymoon. If you’re planning your own Christchurch Harbour Hotel wedding and would like to talk to us about creating your wedding images, please dont hesitate to get in touch.
